Kyrgyzstan is to celebrate acceptance of Universal Declaration of Human Rights

On July 30 committee session on preparations and actions devoted to 60 year anniversary of UN acceptance of the General Declaration of Human Rights took place in the White House in Bishkek presided by Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic of Igor Chudinov.

According to the Government press-service plan of measures timed to Declaration celebration was considered during the committee session. According to I. Chudinov the plan was prepared taking into account remarks of the state bodies, the Kyrgyz Ombudsmen and public organizations.

Head of the state having emphasized the importance of the measures noted that they (in the social policy, conference etc. format) must be conducted on the proper level. Some of them, in particular cycle of TV broadcasts may become regular and after the jubilee in the form of special rubrics devoted to HR issues in Kyrgyzstan.
Considering that the conducting measures demand financial support, I. Chudinov suggested confirming the Plan of Measures by government of Kyrgyz Republic in the next decree. Besides, the state head suggested attracting also international organizations to prepare and hold the measures.

I. Chudinov noted that the Kyrgyzstan should demonstrate the world its firm commitment to principals of Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Therefore serious approach to all planned actions must be considered.
At the committee session a decision on creating a working group headed by Ombudsman Tursunbek Akun which should correct the Plan of Measures taking into account the state suggestions and offers is accepted.
We remind the Kyrgyz President issued a decree from May 29, 2008 No. 187 “About 60 year acceptance of Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the UN”. By the Decree of the President, organizing committee on preparing and holding measures devoted to 60 year acceptance of the Universal Declaration was organized.
The organizing committee is entrusted to work out and confirm the Plan of measures on preparing and conducting the measures within a month. Also the Kyrgyz government is to find financial support for conducting the measures.
