Secretary of Security Council demands educational officers to control visits of religious places by pupils

Secretary of Security Council KR Ismail Isakov demanded the educational officers to control visits of religious places by schoolchildren. The high-ranking official did it on July 11 at oblast meeting, where chiefs of city and rayon education departments, school principals and heads of childcare institutions were invited.

As I. Isakov informed during his Osh oblast visit on 8-11 July was acquainted with curriculums and created conditions in madrasahs and mosques, where schoolchildren are taught to Islam basis.

“In major religious institutions trainings are conducted with infringement of curriculums and KR legitimacy, sometimes for 9 hours a day violating rights of children and harming their health” – said I. Isakov, adding “conditions for study unsatisfactory”.

Also SC secretary expressed resentment about local authorities and heads of educational institutions for “non interest on how schoolchildren spend their vacations and what they are busy with”.

“Using this freedom children are involved in religious facilities. Which of you have gone to madrasah or mosque in order to find out how trainings are conducted or what the children are taught?” questioned Isakove the participants of the meeting. In the secretary's opinion, juveniles receive alien knowledge and skills in such institutions. “By the tradition of Kyrgyz people girls had never gone to the madrasahs and worn paranja. Why do you allow now?” – protested Isakov.
