State agency on Religious Affairs KR held seminar on improving legal competence in religious issues

On August 15th a seminar-training called “Assistance to developing legal competence and dialogue in religious issues” took place in Bishkek.
Info agency “AKIpress” informed referring to press-service of the State Agency on Religious Affairs. The agency notes that the training was conducted by the State Agency on Religious Affairs together with the local OSCE bureau in Osh.
According to the State agency press-service the main aim of the measure is assistance to formation of practical skills, increase of competence in solving religious questions, prevention of conflicts on the basis of religion and prevention of religious extremism spread. General objectives were fulfilled during the seminar, informs the agency.
At the training in particular it was marked that “the religious situation in the state requires co-ordinated approach to the solution of the existing problems”.  “Representatives of state power are the main conductors of a state policy to the religious sphere, and as adequate is the solution of the religious matters so will raise possibilities on effective realization of a state policy on decrease of conflicts in a society on the basis of religion and prevention of ideas on religious extremism and fundamentalism” - quoted the info agency the words of the State Agency on Religious Affairs head Kanybek Osmonaliev.
A special role at the seminar-training, as the press service notes, was devoted to issues on increasing legal awareness of the training participants such as universal standards on freedom of religion and legal practice of religious rights and freedom in Kyrgyzstan.
