Uzbek oppositionist secretly taken out to Kyrgyzstan is found but not available for media yet

Vice – chairman of the opposition party Birlik Halk Harakati (Peoples Movement of Unity) Pulat Akhunov, was secretly taken to Kyrgyzstan by the military and policing branch members of Andizhan at the beginning of August, was re-found, but refrained from contact with the media, informed representative of the opposition party.

As the site “Voice of Freedom” states, popular Uzbek oppositionist-politician P. Akhunov had completely disappeared in the morning of August 8. That day he was called to Ingress and Egress Department of Shahrihan rayon militia of Adizhan oblast. Sudden disappearance of the oppositionist caused alarm among members of the party who were sure in law enforcers’ participation in disappearance of their employees.

Later the oppositionist was found near the Kyrgyz capital where he contacted the party leader of Birlik Halk Harakati, and was forced to migrate to the USA. In the telephone contact he informed about his secret departure to neighboring country.
“The incident happened to Pulat Akhunov is a nonsense, the Uzbek history does not remember liquidation of its native resident from the country without any serious reasons. We knew that hakims (governors) of some oblasts had insolence to evict residents from houses just because that they were unwanted. But when the president of the country, the guarantor of all rights and freedom observance resorted to the same actions, forgive my words, is unprecedented impudence” – “Voice of Freedom” quotes the words of one of the Uzbek expert.

“Activists of the opposition party Birlik Halk Harakti and human rights activists of Ezgulik society had addressed to state bodies of Uzbekistan earlier with a requirement to explain actions of militia and policing branch of Andizhan. However not a single structure has commented the actions of the Andizhan militia yet, also the decree of the state head denationalizing Akhunov” – writes the site.
