Young HR activists from Khudjand
A two-day training “Monitoring Technology and Report Drawing on Human Rights” was held in Khudjand under initiation of association of young lawyers “Amparo”, where 25 young lawyers participated.
As organizers mark, this was not the first training for young lawyers of Khudjand. They have already had training on legal basis as how to create HR organizations, conducting advocacy campaigns, participate in strategic court trials.
According to the project head “Young Human Rights Activists' School” Dilrafruz Samadova, the project is directed to assist preparations of young activists and stimulate human rights activity in Sogdy oblast.
Project organizers selected 25 most active and sing-minded young men who will serve as a basement in advancing values of human rights in the country.
Organizers plan to create 3 independent monitoring groups that will independently work on data collection and legal analysis of situation. Moreover, it is planned to carry out imitating court trials which promote increasing judicial-procedure knowledge of young activists.
The end of the project will be presentation activities and achieved goals of young monitoring groups at the round table “Role of young human rights activists in promoting Human Rights” in the mid September.
The project is being financed by Democracy Development Commission of US Embassy in Dushanbe .
