Law on Peaceful Assembly is discussed

On June 21 in Osh meeting of representatives of some local non-governmental organizations which has been organized by regional representation of Human Rights Center “Citizens against corruption” took place.

Head of Center for International Protection Assistance Akylbek Tashbulatov told to the gathered about get-to-know trip of representatives of Osh NGO in Issykul and Naryn oblasts. He noted that trip organized within the project “Citizens against corruption” was very productive and served as establishment of partner relations.

Chief executive of Association of non-governmental human rights organizations “Advocacy Center for Human Rights” Jenish Toroev presented to the participants the analysis of Kyrgyz Law “on Rights of Citizens to organize peaceful assembly without weapons” additions and changes adopted on June 13, 2008 by deputies of Jogorku Kenesh KR.

At the end of the meeting participants were offered to sign the address to the President KR with an appeal to veto changes approved by Parliament Members to prevent “attempts to restrict Constitutional Rights and Citizens' freedom”.
